China Life

China Life Insurance Company Limited is a life insurance company established in 2003 through the restructuring of China Life Insurance (Group) Company. It is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (601628.SH) and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (2628.HK), and is not the same entity as its controlling shareholder, China Life Insurance (Group) Company. In terms of insurance business revenue and net profit, around 2017 China Life and Ping An ranked as the top two in the domestic insurance industry.

In alternative investments, China Life participated as a limited partner in GLP’s US logistics real estate fund GLP US Income Partners II, which in November 2015 acquired 57.9 million square feet of industrial real estate for US$4.5 billion. According to a 2018 report by the Economic Observer, China Life also set up a logistics fund with Haier Electronics and others, taking part in investment in logistics real estate.
